Which parcel box size is right for you?

A quick guide to choosing the right secure, keyless parcel box for how you shop — and where you’ll put it.

A parcel box only does its job if it fits the way you actually receive deliveries. Too small and it overflows on a busy week; bigger than you need and you’ve paid for space you’ll never fill. This guide breaks the choice down to a couple of simple questions, compares the three sizes side by side, and points you to the right one.

Start with two numbers

Choosing a parcel box really comes down to two figures. The first is the biggest single parcel it takes keyless — the largest item a courier can place in the receiving drawer with no key or code; we give this as a maximum parcel size (in centimetres) for each box, so you can check it against what you usually receive. The second is how much it holds in total, because parcels add up if a few arrive before you collect them.

A box can have a generous total capacity but a smaller opening, or the other way around — so it’s worth matching both to how you shop. The three sizes below are built around exactly that: a bigger opening and more storage as you go up.

Which one sounds like you?

A few parcels, smaller home. If it’s mostly the occasional delivery and you’re tight on space, the Medium covers you without taking over the entrance.

Regular online shopping, busy household. For weekly deliveries and the odd bigger carton, the Large is the comfortable all-rounder — room to spare on a normal week.

High volume, business, or a shared building. If parcels pile up, you receive big cartons, or several people share the box, the Extra-Large gives you the most storage and the biggest keyless single-parcel size in the range.

Still weighing it up? When in doubt, size up — a box that’s never quite full beats one that overflows. You can browse all three on the Parcel Boxes page.

Do you need to send as well as receive?

Every parcel box receives keyless — no key or code for the courier. If you also send or return parcels (handy for online sellers or frequent returners), the Parcel Box + Pickup Box adds a separate send compartment secured by a combination lock — you set the code, and can change or share it whenever you like. Receiving stays keyless; sending is yours to control. It comes in the same three sizes.

Where will it go?

Medium and Large can be mounted on a wall, set on the ground, or fitted to a post, so they suit most front yards, porches and entrances. The Extra-Large bolts down to the ground or mounts to a wall, as it’s a heavier unit. Want it built into a fence, brickwork or a custom surround? A Built-In Frame gives the box a neat, integrated, built-in finish — frames fit the flat-roof models.

Parcel box sizes — your questions answered

What size parcel box do I need?
It comes down to how much you receive and the biggest single parcel you get. Medium suits smaller households and everyday parcels, Large is the all-rounder for regular online shoppers, and Extra-Large is for high-volume homes, businesses and shared buildings. When in doubt, size up.
What’s the biggest parcel a parcel box can take?
The Extra-Large takes a single parcel of up to 51.5 × 36.5 × 33 cm (62 litres), delivered keyless — the biggest of the three. Medium takes up to 30.5 × 21.5 × 17 cm (11 litres) and Large up to 40 × 21.5 × 29.5 cm (25 litres).
Can I use a parcel box to send parcels too?
Yes, with the Parcel Box + Pickup Box. Deliveries are received keyless, and a separate send compartment opens with a combination lock — you set the code and share it, so a courier can collect an outgoing parcel without a key. It’s available in all three sizes.
Where can I install a parcel box?
Medium and Large can be wall-mounted, ground-mounted or fitted to a post. Extra-Large bolts down to the ground or mounts to a wall. If you’d rather build it into a fence or wall, a Built-In Frame gives it a neat, integrated finish — flat-roof models only.
Which is the largest parcel box?
The Extra-Large — Australia’s largest keyless parcel letterbox. It takes a single parcel of up to 51.5 × 36.5 × 33 cm (62 litres), delivered keyless, and stores parcels in a 160-litre secure compartment.
